How to Identify a Pure Silk Saree Online
Buying silk online requires more than looking at a shiny photograph. Two sarees can look similar on a screen while being completely different in fibre, construction and price.
Start with the fabric description
Look for a specific description rather than generic words such as "silk look", "silky", or "silk finish".
A good product description should tell you what the main fabric is.
Check the weaving information
For traditional handloom sarees, useful information can include:
- Region of weaving-Weave type-Silk type-Zari information-Handloom information-Saree measurements-Blouse-piece details
Look carefully at zari
Zari can dramatically affect the appearance and price of a silk saree. Ask whether the zari is metallic imitation zari, tested zari or another construction rather than assuming every golden border contains precious metal.
Ask for close-up photographs
Before buying an expensive saree online, examine:

Check the seller

Don't judge silk only by shine
A highly reflective surface does not automatically mean high-quality silk. The hand feel, weave, weight, construction and finishing matter together.
For premium purchases, compare several products instead of choosing based on photography alone.
